Program Goals

 

Short-term Goals

 

·         Provide training for teachers. Most primary school teachers in South Sudan have not even completed high school and lack teaching skills and a proficient knowledge of English, the language of instruction.

·        Provide educational materials to facilitate learning in the classrooms. 

 
 
Long-term goals    
 
Scholarship and leadership development
  • To solicit funds for college education in Southern Sudan.
  • To facilitate international education exchange program for South Sudanese students.
  • To partner with American colleges and universities and ask for their support by sponsoring students from South Sudan. 

Empowerment

  •  To provide leadership training to community leaders and members with requirement that they promote equality and fairness along gender and ethnic lines. 
  • Teach English as a Second Language (ESL) to adults as an effort to create a common language which will facilitate communication, understanding, and cooperation among the diverse groups of people in South Sudan.
  • Provide short-term job skills in trades such as  carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and small scale farming.
  • Microfinance to create entrepreneurship
    Capacity building
  • To build academic libraries
  • To build a center in South Sudan.  The center will be vital in serving the following needs:
         1. To provide accommodation for volunteers, scholars, visitors,
             and others affiliated with us on a mission in Sudan.

         2. To be a destination and distribution center for our supplies - a store

         3. To have a convention/conference center and a few classrooms
         4. To have a number of offices
         5. To be a symbol of hope and peace
